I have lived and worked in many countries all over the world, and these experiences have influenced me deeply. My artistic vision strives to express the universality of our human condition: our shared longings, struggles and passions, and the roots of our happiness. I use imagery, colors, shapes, and design elements that evoke a universal response and transcend national and cultural barriers. I am not grounded in any one artistic tradition, but in many, and I tap into themes and designs that re-appear in every aesthetic.

I hunger to find meaning in life. For this reason I incorporate spiritual elements into the design of my pots. My concept of spirituality is eclectic. In my decoration I sometimes use animal, bird, fish, and plant imagery to reference the spiritual connections in our lives.
I make functional pots, and I pay attention to the details. A handle has to be comfortable and support the weight of the pot and its contents. A lid has to fit. A spout has to pour. Glaze must be food safe. Of course, pots have to go in the oven, the microwave and the dishwasher, so I think about how each one will fit in there.

My glaze palette includes: blues like the sky over our heads and the water around us; greens like those of the plant world; whites like the clouds and snow; and browns and grays like the earth, rocks and woods.

My techniques include: wheel throwing, slab building, and slip casting. Sometimes I alter thrown pieces, or use a combination of techniques on one piece.
