Artist Statement
My functional leafy pottery forms are all one-of-a-kind and are made for food and flowers. They appeal to those who love nature, gardening, arranging flowers, or serving in a special dish. The vases are based on flower forms, functioning on two levels: visually as sculptures that express the energy of a flower opening and literally as vessels that hold water and real flowers. Their construction may include tube shapes that help hold flowers in place like a tulipierre. Sometimes tiny cityscapes are tucked into the leafy forms.
