Full Name:
Susanne Strater
Susanne’s interest in painting lies in the place where the natural landscape and the man-made environment meet. She likes to look at the patterns that the two environments make, especially in contrast with each other - the rounder and more varied shapes of the natural landscape against the more rigid and regular features of the manmade landscape. Suzanne received her art education at Middlebury College in Vermont and from the variety of art courses taken wherever she lives Highlights include the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Gordon College in Barnesville Georgia, courses with Marie-Claude Bouthillier at the Visual Arts Centre in Westmount, Quebec, and a workshop with Wolf Kahn in Maine. She also hold a BA in Geography/Mathematics from Middlebury College (1980) and an MA in Geography from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1985).
