As an oil painter and watercolorist, I’ve always loved painting outdoors where authentic and spontaneous connections with the natural world abound. By connecting with the raw beauty and essence of inner and outer landscapes, I try to portray the luminosity and magic of both. My father and mother, both oil painters, met at the New York Art Student’s League in the 1950s and my maternal grandmother was a masterful watercolorist. I grew up around art and artists as a part of everyday life and painting has been central to my personal life for as long as I can remember. Although, I’ve spent my career in publishing and have traveled widely, I love to spend my personal time delving into the soothing and mysterious world of light, shadows, color, and making the unseen visible. I believe there’s a spiritual and energetic quality to everything that can be captured if one looks closely or senses deeply. In a world that moves to quickly, I try to help others slow down, observe, listen visually, and to be captivated along with me if they will.
