For almost 25 years I have been exploring glass by studying and working with different and complimentary glass techniques: traditional stained glass, kiln-forming and glass fusing. My glass work is rooted in a strong respect and understanding of traditional glass craft while practicing contemporary flat glass techniques.

Over the years I have been using fusing and sandblasting methods to create complex designs reminiscent of ancient or “primitive” cultures. In my recent work, I simplify compositions, finding balance between surfaces which are mostly solid black and ornamental glass pieces I create beforehand with glass stringers or glass powders. I fuse together these separate segments assembled with great precision. I sandblast the glass object’s surface and shape it in a mold during a third firing. This last low-firing also achieves a subtle and unusual matte surface that is the signature of my glass objects collection.
