Jewelry Workshop: Basic Enamel

This course is an introduction to glass enamel on copper. Students will learn the process of applying colorful powder to metal and firing it in a kiln until it becomes a solid glass surface. We will explore layering and firing methods for creating various textures. During this workshop, students will create both sample tiles and finished jewelry to be fired to a glossy, luminous surface with a wide range of exciting colors. Some metalworking skills are helpful, though not required.
